The scripture for today is 2 Thessalonians 3:16
2 Thessalonians 3:16 Now the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
When we seek peace, we are not seeking a thing or condition, we are seeking a person, Jesus Christ. “For He is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us.” Ephesians 2:14 The world cannot broker peace and will never find peace in the absence of Christ. Political negotiations, military strength, and humanitarian efforts will never secure a lasting peace, “the Lord of peace Himself” is the only source of that which we seek.
He offers Himself to the world through the “gospel of peace,” (Ephesians 6:15) and by receiving Him through the gospel, which is “good news,” we receive His peace. His word comes to us “by all means” and we are never in a position where the peace of the Lord is not available to us. When our hearts are in the position of receiving, God’s heart is always willing to give. When the Lord is with us, His peace is always present.
